Hypnosis is defined as an altered state of awareness characterized by relaxation and a higher response to suggestion. A guided relaxation begins each session, so that conscious thought is quieted and memories, feelings, and visions of the unconscious mind can surface. Clinical Hypnotherapy helps you create change in habits, behavior patterns, and emotional responses.
The conscious mind analyzes and uses logic and objectivity. It understands and makes choices based on experience. The subconscious mind, however, holds our feelings, emotions, memories and imagination. It chooses responses based on subjective experience.
Hypnotherapy sessions include both direct suggestions and regression. Direct suggestions allow your subconscious mind to develop new ideas and habits. This part of the process is burned onto a CD for you to listen to every day. Regression allows you to return to the initial events in your life that created the beliefs that cause stress or destructive behaviors, and release them.
Most people are suggestible (able to be hypnotized). To be suggestible, you need to trust the therapist, be motivated to make the changes in your life, to understand how the process works, and to have a belief that hypnosis works. However, if you are not suggestible for any reason, the Results System¨ is the perfect alternative.
Other Uses for Hypnotherapy include:
Regression/Healing the Inner Child – healing and clearing the root causes of disturbing feelings or patterns, which may be the result of past rrauma or abuse
Past Life Regression – can be helpful in uncovering fears, phobias, and the decisions made in this lifetime
Habit Modification – smoking, biting finger nails, nervous habits, etc.
Weight Loss – proven to be more effective than “will power”
Stress Management – reprogramming the subconscious mind to relax and protect itself from the emotional and physical symptoms of stress, tension, anxiety or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Symptoms may include illness, chronic health conditions, pain and depression.
Phobias – quick relief from irrational fears that disrupt normal life
Personal Growth – Although all of the above contribute to personal growth, therecomes a time in every person’s life when he or she desires to connect with their core or Higher Self, and understand their life purpose. Hypnotherapy and meditation processes are integral to creating this connection
Guided Imagery – meet an inner advisor, take a journey to “see” your future life path, bring closure to past relationships/situations, etc.
